Understanding the Mortgage Process

Our professionals can guide you through the entire mortgage process and make it as hassle-free as possible. Here are the basic steps in acquiring a mortgage—and the home of your dreams!

Step 1:

Apply for a Loan

Call one of our preferred lending institutions and submit basic financial information. Once they have received your loan information, you will be assigned to a mortgage representative. He or she will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete the application process, gather information and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2:

Approval and Preparation for Closing

Once you are approved, your mortgage representative will notify you of your credit approval and work with you in preparation for closing. He or she will request any required documentation (e.g. pay stubs, account statements, W2s, etc.), and validate that your loan information is still accurate. From there, your preferred mortgage representative will work closely with your Madison Home Builders representative to coordinate a firm closing date with you. As your closing approaches, your mortgage representative will verify that you have obtained hazard insurance and provide you with final closing figures.

Step 3:

Closing and Home Ownership

Your mortgage representative will also coordinate with your title company or an escrow agent to make certain all of your loan documents are accurate and ready for the big day. At closing, the title company or escrow agent will explain all of the documents and answer any questions. The transaction will be completed and you can move in!
